cooperative
La coopérative est une entité économique fondée sur le principe de la coopération. Elle a pour objectif de servir au mieux les intérêts économiques de ses participants (sociétaires ou adhérents). Elle se distingue en cela de l'association à but non lucratif dont le but est moins lié aux activités économiques et de la société commerciale qui établit une distinction entre ses associés et ses clients ou usagers.
La distinction entre « coopérative » et « Société mutuelle » est plus une différence d'appellation et de structure juridique qu'une différence sur le type d'activité. En effet, comme dans les Association à but non lucratif, les membres sont à la fois actionnaires et clients.
Elles s'identifient par sept identité coopérative. Ainsi, pour les prises de décision, elle repose sur le principe démocratie « une personne = une voix ». Les salariés et les membres-usagers sont ainsi tous Égalité sociale en droit.
